Before the delay
Garena presented Free Fire India in August 2023 with India data storage and a planned September release. That plan established the India-specific direction, but it did not produce a playable launch on the announced day.
The long gap
The September 2023 launch was postponed shortly before release, and no replacement date followed until the 2026 announcement. The timeline keeps that postponement separate from the later launch instead of treating the two dates as one event.
The live build
On 28 October 2026, the India listing went live as a free standalone app. Its launch build, store identifiers and India distribution are recorded on the download and comparison pages.
